The OPEC+ meeting on 27 April saw oil producers stick to agreements made
earlier in the month. It is expected that the consortium will gradually lift oil
output as global demand recovers from the pandemic, bringing around 2.1m b/d back to the market in May-July, easing cutbacks to 5.8m b/d.

What you will learn:

  • On the fifth anniversary of the announcement of Vision 2030, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman made announcements on plans for the future of the Saudi economy.
  • Regional cases of Covid-19 continue to rise, with several GCC countries reporting high numbers.
  • Further measures are being put in place to curb contagion, including an extension of the curfew in Kuwait until the end of Ramadan in mid-May and a ban on flights from India to the UAE and Oman.
