Aviation: Benefits Beyond Borders 2024

Oxford Economics’ latest study provides the most comprehensive estimate of the aviation sector’s contribution to the global economy.

Oxford Economics collaborated with the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) to provide the most comprehensive estimate of the value of the world’s aviation sector.

The study uses a wide range of data, from industry and governments, to estimate the economic impact of the aviation sector in 85 individual countries, as well as 14 major regions and groups. We estimate that in 2023, the aviation sector and aviation-facilitated tourism supported a $4.1 trillion contribution to global GDP and 86.5 million jobs.

The study also forecasts the aviation sector’s economic impact over the next 20 years.
