War returns to the DRC
Conflict has escalated in the eastern DRC after March 23 Movement (M23) rebels seized Goma – the largest city in the eastern DRC and North Kivu’s capital – at the end of January. Unlike their brief 2012 occupation, M23 is now better armed, backed by Rwanda (despite Kigali’s denials), and facing exhausted Congolese forces. With peace talks failing, tensions threaten to spill over into Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda, risking a third Congo war. Join us as we explore the conflict’s political and economic impact on the DRC and its neighbours.
This webinar is now on On-Demand and is being held on our new platform, ON24. If you have registered, but not received a confirmation email, please check your spam and junk folders.
