Senior Business Development Manager – Asia

Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is looking to hire a Senior Business Development Manager, Asia. This person will join a well-established Business Development Team, helping to contribute to the overall business activities to grow the territory. If successful, this role can lead to an even more senior role in the business development team.

A Senior Business Development Manager is an experienced member of the team that has consistently surpassed annual targets, demonstrated leadership within the team and is able to complete complex sales processes, with limited or no support from management. They should be able to construct a holistic solution for the client, whether it be subscription or consulting, or any combination thereof. ​

A SBDM may manage junior team members such as interns or BDE’s, supporting on strategy design and execution, while meeting high annual sales targets. A SBDM should be focused on growing their individual sales size, heavily contribute the team’s annual target and take part in regional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages business development process, independently from start to end.​
  • Ability to develop and sell complex proposals and packages independently. ​
  • Responsible for pipeline strategy, analysis and high-quality and consistent pipeline development.​
  • Most sales involve a solution-orientated approach.​
  • Ability to successful position OE against most competitors. ​
  • Strong understanding of consultancy offerings and when to introduce them. ​
  • In some instances, may be a line manager.​
  • Provides support and training for other team members. ​
  • Takes part or lead territory or regional strategic initiatives
Skills and Experience – Required
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, ideally within a relevant field (economics, business, finance, marketing)
  • Native English speaker: other language skills, such as Bahasa, Thai or Tagalog, are desirable.
  • 7-8 years work experience in sales and business development
  • An interest in economics and current affairs
  • Comfortable making cold calls to multiple countries
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Salesforce
  • Must be a team player
